The time here has been flying by. Already we are half way through our lecture phase until we leave the island for our outreach locations. Just recently it was disclosed to us that Taiwan will be our first stop on outreach followed by several islands in Indonesia. The type of missions work we will be doing however has not yet been fully made known to us.

In the mean time, our school has continued to grow and learn. The last two weeks were on identity in Christ and the Father heart of God. The identity lecture was led by a Pastor from Hamilton named Dave Overholt joined by his wife Helen. This week challenged me to take hold of the promises laid out in the Bible and live according to his calling. This includes living as an adopted son with the guaranteed deposit of the Holy Spirit. The lecture on the Fathers heart was taught by Ben Nonoa who is on staff at the YWAM Kona base. He focused on the love and forgiveness of God and encouraged the students to be bold and vulnerable. This led to many of the students sharing serious struggles they were going through and making room for healing. Throughout the whole time here it has been really special to see spiritual as well as physical healing through Jesus.

Other tasks such as maintenance and community outreach have also been going well. Maintenance often includes yard work or other projects around the base, which make for a fun time to laugh with the other guys, while blessing the base. For community outreach the team I am with goes to a group housing location where we play with kids, feed, love, and teach them about Jesus.

I realized the other day that the photos I have been posting on the blog must make it look like I’m on a dream getaway, which is only true in part. The reason for this is because I generally only carry my phone on weekends when we’re out on excursions. This likely will not change, but thought it was worth mentioning.

Please be blessed in knowing God is working in and through YWAM Maui.

Ephesians 1:5

In love he predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will
